I began working in the Knight Laboratory over 20 years ago and developed expertise in DNA sequence analysis. In collaboration with Dr. Britte Beaudette, I investigate BCR and TCR repertoires in leukemia patients who have had a transplant of hematopoietic stem cells from umbilical cord blood (UCB) or bone marrow. By CDR3 spectratype analysis, I measure the diversity of TCR and BCR repertoires to determine the level of immune reconstitution of patients transplanted with hematopoietic stem cells. I also work with Dr. Dennis Lanning studying the impact of the intestinal microbiota on T cell differentiation in gut-associated lymphoid tissue. |
