Patient-Centered Medicine 4 is a course established in
2021 with a primary goal of assisting fourth-year students in their successful
transition to internship. The
curriculum is largely asynchronous and self-paced in order to provide
clerkship-free time for interviewing.
The curricular offerings are designed as follows:
a) The opportunity to enhance clinical skills in the
diagnosis and management of clinical conditions that are commonly addressed by
the on-call intern (WISE On-Call Modules).
b) A continuum of years 1-3 material on:
-Physician wellness (series of 4 videos, self-assessments
and reflection)
-Pain and opioid management (lecture recording and quiz)
-End-of-Life curriculum (end-of-life 4-station clinical
skills exam)
c) The opportunity for fourth-years students to consider
their impact and professional obligations within systems of healthcare delivery
(value-based care modules and discussion sessions)
