Introduction

On behalf of the faculty and staff of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, I would like to welcome you to your 3rd year clerkship. For the next six weeks, you will have the opportunity for a hands-on learning experience that will expand your knowledge of women's health. Our specialty combines surgery, medicine, emergency care and office-based practice into one exciting field.

As you progress through our rotation, you will realize that six weeks is just the tip of the iceberg. In no way will you be able to master all the educational topics or operative skills in this timeframe. However, you should become familiar with them, and have a better understanding of how you can have an impact on women's health, even if your career lies outside obstetrics and gynecology.

The information you receive during your orientation and on this web site will aid you throughout your clerkship. Please refer to it often. If I could offer just a couple tips to get you through:

Again, I welcome you to our wonderful world of Obstetrics and Gynecology. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me directly.
