A Central Clinical Trials Office (CCTO) at Loyola University Medical Center has been established under the direction of Cathy Kalnicky, Director of the CCTO. The Central Clinical Trials Office is a multidisciplinary service organization to support faculty participating in funded clinical trials. The CCTO can assist with the contracting and budgeting phases of study start-up, complete the IRB submission process and sponsor regulatory approval processes. The CCTO also provides study coordinator services.The Clinical Research Office will also serve as a point of contact to match faculty investigators with clinical trials sponsors, expanding the network of sponsors and Loyola clinical researchers, and providing opportunities to new faculty members.

This core provides investigators with equipment, technical, and surgical services on a fee-for-service basis. While the focus is cardiovascular research, the technology is readily suited for other areas of research. The facilities include a fully equipped surgical suite, state of the art high-frequency high-resolution imaging (Vevo 2100), admittance-based pressure-volume catheters (Scisense), and a data acquisition system (iWorx). The Vector Development Core constructs and purifies recombinant adenovirus and adeno-associated viruses. Preconstructed vectors (including controls) are available.
