Loyola Neurologist Receives 2013 ANA Distinguished Neurology Teacher Award

MAYWOOD, Ill. – Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine faculty member José Biller, MD, has received the 2013 Distinguished Neurology Teacher Award from the American Neurological Association.

The award honors outstanding accomplishments in teaching neurology to resident physicians and neurology students. Nominees come from the entire field of clinical neurology or neuroscience.

The award will be presented at the ANA annual meeting Oct. 13-15 in New Orleans.

Biller is professor and chair of the Department of Neurology of Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. His specialties include stroke, stroke in children and young adults, acute neurology care, general neurology, aneurysms, brain hemorrhage (bleeding), neurological complications of pregnancy, transient ischemic attacks (TIAs), vascular neurology and neurology of systemic diseases.

The American Neurological Association is a professional society of academic neurologists and neuroscientists devoted to advancing the goals of academic neurology, to training and educating neurologists and other physicians in the neurologic sciences and to expanding both the understanding of diseases of the nervous system and the ability to treat them.
