1: Explain principle behind each imaging modality: plain x-rays, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Brain scan, angiogram, mammography, nuclear medicine.
2: Describe how normal tissue is represented in each imaging modality: plain x-rays, CT, MRI, Ultrasound, Contrast angiograms
3: Identify normal anatomical structures in each imaging modality
4: Recognize abnormal findings in imaging studies
5: Match pathological findings with image findings
6: List pathological conditions that can produce a given abnormal image finding
7: Select the appropriate initial imaging procedure for a given clinical situation.
8: Formulate a differential based on the pattern of observed abnormal image findings
9: Propose a final diagnosis based on the image findings and clinical setting.
MS1: On line examination at the end of structure course. You will be evaluated on the 1-3 objectives. Passing grade 70% Pass/fail.
MS2: On line examination at the end of second year covering objectives 4, 5 and 6. Questions will cover Neuroscience, Abdomen, Heart and Lungs. Passing grade 70% Pass/Fail.
MS3:
Clerkship exams will contain questions evaluating the objective 7 and is part of the clerkship exam score.
Participation in weekly radiology image cases to evaluate your ability to apply objectives 8 and 9. 70% participation required.
On line examination at the end of third year under the Topics in Clinical Medicine covers objectives 1-9. Passing score 70%
Repeat any failed component.
