Divisions

The Department of Surgery has grown considerably in its 30 years of existence. Today, the Department of Surgery at Loyola University Medical Center consists of seven divisions. They are:




The Division of General Surgery includes the Sections of Colon and Rectal Surgery, Endocrine Surgery, Pediatric Surgery, Intra-abdominal Transplantation, and Minimally Invasive Surgery and Surgical Oncology.

The Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and Dental Medicine includes the Section of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the Section of Dental Medicine.

The Division of Peripheral Vascular Surgery includes the vascular laboratory.

The Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery includes the Section of Pediatric Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and the Section of Microvascular Surgery.

The Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Burns includes the Section of Trauma, the Section of Surgical Critical Care, and the Section of Burns.

The Division of Emergency Medical Services includes Aeromedical Services.
