About the Internship Supervisor
Lisa Beck completed her Masters degree in Social Work in Ontario, Canada and has 15 years of clinical experience, mostly with adults. She has been training interns for about 8 years. She re-located to Chicago from Toronto, Canada, in 1997. She has been working in Psychiatry at Loyola since 2003 and specializes in working with adults in the areas of trauma (particularly sexual violence), depression, anxiety and low self-esteem. She uses a person-centered focus (Rogerian), with psychodynamic underpinnings.
Prior to her current position, Lisa worked for 3.5 years on a psychiatric in-patient unit at Westlake Community Hospital in Melrose Park, IL.. Her first position upon arriving in Chicago was as a Clinical Coordinator for Northwest Center Against Sexual Assault in Arlington Heights, IL.
