  • A culturally, socioeconomically, and diagnostically diverse patient population as the trainee spends training time at the Loyola Medical Center, the Hines VA Medical Center, community mental health centers and private hospitals in the west suburbs of Chicago
  • A comprehensive psychiatric program at the Hines VA Medical Center that includes an inpatient service, a multi-faceted substance abuse program, a research program, and a psychosocial component that caters to the rehabilitation and employability of the veteran with mental and/or chemical dependency issues
  • An intense consultation-liaison experience at Loyola Medical Center
  • Excellent outpatient training experience including subspecialty clinics
  • Thorough grounding in biological psychiatry and psychopharmacology
  • Extensive training in  psychotherapeutic modalities
  • Child and adolescent psychiatry
  • Specialized program in women’s mental health
  • Sexual dysfunction clinic run by internationally-renowned  expert in the field
  • Research training and option to participate in ongoing projects with close supervision by faculty at the Medical Center and the Hines VAMC
