The
Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Neurosciences
provides a comprehensive range of
services for adults, adolescents, children, and the
elderly. Treatment
strategies are designed to be comprehensive,
multidisciplinary and led by a board certified
psychiatrist. We strive to meet the needs
of each patient by applying the most up-to-date
knowledge in psychiatry, psychology and the
neurosciences.

Outpatient Services are
provided at
the Fahey Behavioral Health Clinic, the Loyola
Outpatient Center, and several Primary Care Satellites.
Assessment:
Psychiatric, psychological and neuropsychological assessments
are provided at all sites. Services include
thorough psychiatric evaluation, personality testing, diagnosis of affective disorders,
and health and behavioral assessments such as preoperative
clearance. Neuropsychological evaluation is
available for developmental problems such as learning
disabilities and attention deficit hyperactivity
disorder, acquired neuropsychiatric
conditions such as brain injury and cognitive problems
associated with aging such as memory loss.
Psychotherapy:
Adolescent, adult, family, and couples psychotherapy
is available for outpatients in the clinic settings.
Specialties of note in behavioral medicine are pain
management, coping with cancer, women's mental health,
and adjustment to chronic illness. Psychologists
work with physicians to optimize adherence to treatment and
enhancement of quality

Psychopharmacology:
Expertise in psychopharmacology is available to
all patients at all sites. Patients are carefully
evaluated for the most appropriate psychopharmacologic
agent depending on their specific symptom
presentation. The faculty members of the
Department possess highly specialized expertise in
