David Shoham , PhD, MSPH

Dr. Shoham is a renal and social epidemiologist. He holds a PhD in epidemiology, and has completed a postdoctoral fellowship in cardiovascular epidemiology, both at UNC-Chapel Hill. His interests include the life course context of chronic disease development, with a particular emphasis on cardiovascular and kidney disease. Further interests include the social and political-economic context of population health patterns, and the geographic influences on (and distribution of) disease. Methodological interests include multilevel (mixed) modeling, longitudinal analysis, life-course methods, attributable-fraction estimation, causal inference from observational data, and meta-analysis. Dr. Shoham is available for consultation and collaboration on research projects, from study design through interpretation of results.
