Residency Program

Education Program

Our program is designed to:

  • Provide a broad education in the care of both sick and healthy children

  • Develop skills in the performance of various procedures (technical and other) necessary for the practice of pediatric medicine

  • Facilitate the assumption of responsibility and interpersonal skills essential to a compassionate physician

  • Prepare the graduate to pursue either private practice or a fellowship upon graduation

Morning teaching rounds are made daily on the inpatient services (ward, NICU, PICU, newborn nursery). On the specialty rotations, rounds are arranged around clinics and the presence of patients/consults on the inpatient services. Didactic teaching is scheduled into each specialty rotation by the attending faculty. Supplemental readings are provided and discussed as an important part of those rotations.
