BiographyDr. Brown is board certified in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology, and is engaged in diagnostic neuropathology (brain, nerve and muscle biopsies) as well as surgical pathology. His clinical research interests include neurooncology and ophthalmic pathology.
Dr. Brown has a strong interest in the biophysical properties of proteins, especially the protein aggregation seen in many degenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. He is experienced in many forms of microscopy, including TEM, freeze-fracture, SEM, and AFM.
Dr. Brown received the Merrill Reeh Pathology Award from the American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery in 2002, and an honorable mention for the Rubenstein Award from the American Association of Neuropathologists in 1998.
