Chad A. Zender MD has been appointed Assistant Professor of the Department of Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery effective July 2007. In addition Dr. Zender is director of the Head and Neck Surgery Division. Dr. Zender was born in Carey, OH and attended Bowling Green State University where he graduated Cum Laude. He Attended Wright State University School of Medicine where he was AOA and graduated salutatorian. He then attended Loyola University Medical Center for his Otolaryngology-Head and Neck surgery training.
Dr. Zender completed his fellowship in Head & Neck ablative/reconstructive surgery at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. His fellowship included advanced training in head and neck cancer surgery, skull base surgery, thyroid and parathyroid surgery and reconstructive surgery. In addition to general reconstructive methods Dr. Zender brings micro-vascular surgery adding the ability for free tissue transfer to our department.
Dr. Zender has published articles on tumors of the head and neck, reconstructive head and neck surgery and skull base neoplasms. He has also presented at numerous conferences across the country on various head and neck surgery topics.
His clinical and research activities include the diagnosis and treatment of head and neck neoplasms, anterior skull base surgery, reconstructive surgery of the head and neck, thyroid and parathyroid surgery and salivary and parapharyngeal space tumors.
Dr. Zender sees patients at the Cardinal Bernardin Cancer Center and Loyola Outpatient Center in Maywood.
