Residency News
Softball July 2008
Resident Graduation was, once again, a wonderful experience for the entire Department of Medicine family and most especially for our graduating residents and fellows. Special congratulations to Eric Muller (Senior Resident of the Year), Mary Westerholm (Carlson Awardee), Mark Obermyer (Resident Teacher of the Year), Leo Marucci (Wood/Messmore Hines VA Awardee), Ben Powers (Intern of the Year), and Anil Venugopal and Sowjanya Reganti (Fellow of the Year) for their special recognition. Also, congratulations to Helena Wang, Steve Gawne, Matt Fitz, and Scott Pawlikowski for being recognized by our residents as Faculty Teachers of the Year. Special thanks to our outgoing, and outstanding, chief residents Ryan Carrick, Nate Derhammer, Frankie Lee for creating a wonderful graduation slide show presentation.

All residents are encouraged to direct nominations for Chief Residents for the 2010-2011 academic year to Dr. Simpson.
A sincere thank you to everyone who worked so enthusiastically to make Loyola's Regional ACP Associate's meeting such a resounding success and congratulations to Katie Roark (PGY 2) and Ted Maglione (MS 3) for their outstanding presentations in the vignette competition!
Our next CPC will be October 16th and will be presented by Dr. Robert Nierzwicki in CMR 460 at 4:30 pm. Our next Autopsy Conference will be October 17th and will be presented by Dr. Anil Ramesh in Hines Conference room 1492.
