Infectious Disease & Immunology Institute

The Infectious Disease & Immunology Institute is devoted to research on microbes and the human immune system interaction, translating findings to treatment, control and prevention of disease caused by human infectious agents. 

The Institute will be comprised of faculty and research of the Division of Infectious Disease, the Department of Microbiology and Immunology, the Department of Cell Biology, Neurobilogy and Anatomy, the Burn and Shock Trauma Institute, Oncology Institute and the Cardiovascular Institute.  This conjunction of clinicians and scientists in the Institute will enable results to be taken from the lab to clinic, benefiting patients.
