Tissue Processing & Embedding: Tissue processing includes all reagents.  Labels on cassettes MUST be with #2 pencil ONLY.  

Tissue should be fixed in 10% buffered formalin.  Tissue must be trimmed to size and placed in cassettes.  User MUST provide formalin, cassettes & sponges.

Unstained Slides - same block:  Additional slides cut from the same block, during the same sectioning time.  Laboratories can store these slides for future staining.

Staining Only - H&E: Use of the Histology reagents and technical support.

Histology Training Class: Training in paraffin sectioning, embedding, frozen sections, staining, use of core equipment, etc.  Users must complete training before using the lab equipment.

Practice tissue blocks will be provided.  Users may also bring their own tissue to section during class.  Offered to Loyola faculty, staff & students.  Class length will vary depending on user’s experience.
