The Burn and Shock Trauma Institute serves as the research arm of Loyola's Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Burns Services. Clinical trials related to infection, shock, and wound healing are supported by a large patient population. Our Burn Center admits over 400 patients each year, while the Trauma Service treats nearly 2000 patients annually, admitting more than 1400. Our burn and trauma data registry allows investigators to conduct and suggest new clinical and basic science studies related to injury.
