Dr. Bird was awarded a NRSA Postdoctoral fellowship--F32AA018068 "Effects of Binge Ethanol Exposure on Clearance of HSV-1".

Dr. Bird received a Travel Award to the Research Society on Alcoholism Satellite Symposium “Alcohol as a Modifier of Biological Responses Stem Cells: Relevance to Alcohol-Induced Tissue Damage and Regeneration” .

Kristen Lauing (graduate student) was elected co-president of the Graduate School. She was also accepted for another year as a Trainees on the T32 Alcohol Training Grant.
