is a practice that is both old and new, combining traditional
methods with new developments. The Loyola concept is to provide
a dynamic clinical environment in which current advances are
regularly integrated into a program committed to excellent
clinical care. The Department of Anesthesiology of Loyola
University believes that the best care always considers patient
comfort and emotional support as well as current technology.
These values have been a part of the residency program since
its inception in 1971. It strives to train clinicians of the
highest order and to develop in them a lifelong commitment
